| Family Centred Practices Group is looking for Behavioural Interventionists to work with children with Autism in the Lower Mainland. This work is highly rewarding and provides excellent work experience with young children. If hired by a family, a valuable two-day training workshop in behavioural intervention strategies will be provided. Description of Duties: As a Behavioral Interventionist, you will be working with a child diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum Disorder Continuum as part of an Intensive Behavioural Intervention team. During your one-to-one sessions you will teach the child new skills and concepts in a variety of domains of functioning. You will incorporate child-specific goals into the Intervention session and track the child’s progress using Applied Behaviour Analytic strategies. You will work under the supervision of a qualified Behavioural Consultant who is responsible for the child’s overall Behavioural Intervention Plan. Each session lasts 2-3 hours and you will be asked to commit to working 2-4 sessions per week. This work is highly rewarding and an excellent experience for students wishing to pursue a career in psychology, special education, speech & language pathology, and other related fields.
