How Do I Find a Behavioural Interventionist
The Family Centred Practices Group works in collaboration with families to find Behavioural Interventionists (BIs) for their teams. We have a BI/Training Coordinator, who advertises for available BI positions on an ongoing basis. Each month, we conduct two BI information sessions for BI candidates, during which we provide information on the roles and responsibilities of BIs. In addition, we administer preliminary interviews and perform initial screening of all interested parties. Our BI/Training Coordinator then matches the availability of all successful candidates with family requirements. BI candidates are then interviewed by parents, who ultimately decide if the candidate is a good match with their child and family. All BIs hired by families then attend an initial
Two-day Training Workshop with the Family Centred Practices Group. In home training, monitoring and evaluation is provided on an on-going basis.
