Welcome to Our Practice
The Family Centred Practices Group (FCPG) designs and monitors intervention programs based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) for families with young children who have been diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder or related disability. We utilize current best practice and rely on findings from peer-reviewed research to design individualized Behavioural Plans of Intervention.
To maximize a child’s opportunity to reach his or her full potential, we emphasize a proactive approach to teaching and learning. We accomplish this by capitalizing on naturally occurring motivational conditions and the principles of positive reinforcement. Through the use of these and other behaviour analytic practices, a child’s ability to experience success across environments is enhanced.
We believe that every child is unique, with his or her own strengths, and that all children have the potential to learn. Our program is committed to working together with family members to identify their child's strengths and needs and build upon skills and competencies in a positive and supportive manner. The systematic application of behavioural principals in combination with ongoing monitoring and evaluation enables us to cater our supports to best fit each individual child and family. In collaboration with families we identify priorities for intervention and work towards an improved quality of life for the family unit as a whole.
